Right...bare with me guys. Mel has sailed the channel and right at this very moment is, en France, for her holidays. Admitterly well deserved, and I'm off next week, pour ma vacance. J'espere le soleil est chaud. (My pigeon french)So essentially Me, James, has been left in charge and I am taking up the baton on blogging hence forth!
It's going to bit a bit of a ramberling binge but hey, that's life isn't it?
Any how, before I upload some of our work in progress just a quick word about DandAD New Blood. If you are looking to go; then it was last weekend (bad form) and if you did go; then well done. I hope you had a good time and I hope I saw you. We had a wonderful time mingling and...well sunbatheing to be frank. (The excuse is that it's preparation for the skin before our respective holidays)
Hopefully I've been in touch with vast swathes of creatives (you people reading) and now in the offing is a placement. Much appreciation if so. If not, have a gander, call us in for a chat and get to know how great we are. WE REALLY ARE!
p.s. We still regulary bake. Who doesn't want us in their office?!!?!?!?

Work Work Work!!
Officially moving to London in 10 days, this week we have to concentrate directly on getting a job. We keep finding new placements and applying, giving each company and application our full attention and enthusiasm, just finding quite a few companies are looking for very experienced teams. We need someone to give us the opportunity to become experienced, take a leap of faith and have faith in us as a team, and our work. If anyones out there, please get in touch, thompsonfollowscreative@yahoo.co.uk.
Thankyou :-)
Thankyou :-)

DONE AND DONE!
Weeks of sleepless nights and stiff backs from sitting at a desk photoshopping, we have FINISHED, and positioned our exhibition work ready to be marked. We are both very satisfied and pleased with how the three finished campaigns look, and can now look forward to working on new exciting briefs. Look out for more posts and updates on our new, improved portfolio.

End of a very busy week.
As was posted on the last post, we managed to book ourselves in for book crits at Mc Cann Erickson and Publicis this week. Both were very informative and helpful, meeting with Ben Brazier and Johnny Skinner at Mc Cann we realised what work we are expected to put into our book. Realising we need to work on bigger, better known brands, and not be scared to drift away from the brief, which will help in making the concepts take on a new style and personality. Something that we have been struggling with recently. At Publicis we meet with Ian Atkinson, who helped us leave his office feeling positive and optimistic on working on work we already had in our book, and the future we could have within advertising.
On Wednesday, I ( Mel), attended the DandAD professional judging at Kensington Olympia. A exciting day, full of advertising royalty and professionals. Meeting with 'Big Dogs' such as Richard Russell Creative Director for DDB and Leon Jaume Creative Executive Director at WCRS, I was what you could say like a excited kid in a sweet shop. A day that clarified to me that this is the industry I want to succeed in.
Thursday we met Will Awdry at Ogilvy One. A inspiring man who offered new access points of thinking to help solve a problem. His critique of our Anglo American work was very positive, inspiring us to bring more warmth to our work. Overall a busy yet inspiring week, so now to crack on with theses ' BIGGER' briefs and ideas, ready for Unite critique on Wednesday evening.

Make Museums Sexy

Brief: To make museums sexy.
Execution: Instead of concentrating on singular museums, we decided to create a campaign that focused on a website that provided information on every museum in Britain and their exhibitions. We also decided to execute the sexiness in a less overt way, by creating the 'Flirt campaign' it creates temptation, which is the feeling we wanted to create towards museums.
Hovis
Builders Tea

Brief: Create a copy based campaign to promote new ' Builders Tea'
Execution: Our main focus was on how tea break time is often gossip time, by paralleling lines that may be said within conversations, and could also been said about tea. it creates a enigmatic, cheeky campaign, that we feel is just right for the brand. We also created a tea carrier that looks similar to a builders tool box, a carrier that enables people to carry more than one cup of tea for their conversation easily.
